Greggs’ vegan sausage rolls went on sale yesterday to much excitement on social media, but the big question is – where can you get them locally?

The bakers’ latest creation is not available in Hitchin or Letchworth, while it’s only on sale in two of the three stores in Stevenage. But thankfully, for vegan sausage roll lovers everywhere, you can grab one in a shop near Baldock.

Greggs’ store at the Baldock Services, just off Junction 10 of the A1(M), is among 900 across the UK that stock the animal-product free treat.

Slightly further afield, vegan sausage rolls are also available in all five Greggs’ stores in Luton.

The bakers’ website says: “Our new vegan friendly sausage roll has been designed to mirror some of the sausage roll’s classic features including 96 layers of light and crisp puff pastry, but instead we wrap it around our own bespoke Quorn filling.”

Their introduction to stores comes off the back of strong customer demand, including a petition by animal rights organisation PETA, which was signed by more than 20,000 people.

Yesterday’s tweet announcing the news has had 47,000 likes so far, and counting...
